Sremski Karlovci is a quaint baroque town, located about half an hour drive away from Novi Sad. It is a cradle of Serbian National Revival in 19th century. This period of Serbian history is know as a flourishing one culture, politics, arts and architecture. This fact reflects itself in layout of the main square of Karlovci that features monumental edifices of Patricidal Home, Seminary, Orthodox, Catholic Church and First Serbian High-school. Al built in beautiful baroque style. Town is also known for its wine production,that started when Marcus Aurelius Probus, Roman Emperor, planted first vine on the foothills' of Fruska Gora Mountain. Today there is even a special kind of wine produced here, Bermet, fortified strong and medicinal, it took the name of Karlovci around the world. Enjoy a visit of First Serbian High school, still the best language school in the country, that educated generations of most prominent Serbs followed by a visit to the famous Kuglof museum to learn about the Kuglof baking community Karlovci is famous for. After visiting the museum proceed to the estate of Zivanovic family . The family has been producing wine and honey for more then three hundred years.
